It is only by tearing down the false perceptions that we can start again.
Love is a verb, and we need to exercise it. But we can’t if our walls are up.
Selfishness promotes self-pity, blame, victimization. It equally encourages arrogance, pride, jealousy.
Cultivating self-awareness requires little but attention and willingness.
When I find that I’m stuck suffering over my suffering, I will ask if I’m being selfish, or isolating or holding on.
Trauma is personal. It can be anything. It doesn’t have to be as dramatic as others’. It’s how it affects YOU.
