Last March, some of us thought that this would all be over by Easter. Then when it wasn’t, we thought, “Maybe by the summer.” The lush summer came and went; everything turned red, gold, and brown; it got cold. “Maybe by the new year.” Each expectation leads to another disappointment. The disappointments feed our angst like a greedy child devouring cookies.

Fear is NOT a Virtue
It’s just like the Force in Star Wars. Do you want to be a Jedi or a Sith? Do you want to broker in love, hope, faith, justice, courage, prudence, and temperance? Or do you want fear, jealousy, arrogance, anger, lack of control, chaos, and confusion?
Gratitude Shift
. You want to be free of the COVID blues? Choose gratitude. Choose to shift your magical magnifying mind onto the blessings that surround you. Watch the blessings bloom.
Bigger
The only thing that will truly refresh the soul is the belief in something Bigger than All of This. Bigger than the President, the pandemic, the social unrest. Bigger than the election. Bigger than limited thinking. We need a bigger God.
I Don’t Wanna
Humans are resilient creatures. We adapt – on the outside. What’s happening to us on the inside?
Where is Hope?
We should all be wearing psychic masks to avoid spewing our discomfort, pain and fear on others. Blaming other people or institutions (like the government) isn’t going to work.
Do Your Words Matter?
Humans are complicated, they are layered, like Ogres. Maybe people are ogres. We hungrily devour those who’s words and behaviors are incongruent with our value systems.
Can We Just NOT?
Let us use this time to cultivate kindness, compassion, and tolerance. Let’s not allow this time to divide us even more so that we were before.
COVID Progression
When all of this started back in the second week of March, I was terrified, mystified.
Weeks went by. We experienced grief.
Here’s where we are today:
Corona Fatigue
Acceptance isn’t the same as absolution. We don’t have to condone the stuff, we have to accept the stuff.
